Halo Wellness Adds Manual Lymphatic Drainage Services

Marlton’s Halo Wellness Center has recently added a manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) massage to their robust menu of unique treatment offerings. MLD is performed by a specially trained therapist who has completed many hours of study and is certified to properly provide this type of treatment.

The lymphatic system is a circulatory system that moves immune cells and removes dead cellular debris to where it can be removed or reused. It is the only system in the body that is not self-pumping, meaning one must take action to ensure it does not become stagnant. A stagnant lymph system can lead to chronic illness and disease.

The MLD massage is one way to improve lymphatic function. The treatment provides very light pressure and long, gentle rhythmic strokes to increase the flow of lymph and  to help the body to eliminate toxins. In addition to being extremely relaxing, the massage can also help with fluid retention including lymphedema, speed the healing process following surgery (six to eight weeks  after or approved by doctor), improve immune function and many other benefits. It is a very gentle treatment and is safe for most; however, it is not recommended for those with congestive heart failure, kidney failure, a history of blood clots or those with active infections.

Cost: $95/1-hour session. Location: 968 Rte. 73 S., Marlton, NJ. For more information, call 856-574-4433 or visit ElevateYourHealth.com
