Natural Awakenings South Jersey

Why Infuse Is A Must-Visit

A new year brings a new chance to revamp your healthy lifestyle. From choosing organic food products to buying healthier personal care products, it’s important to think about the impact ingredients have on our bodies and the environment.

Creating natural and organic body care products is quickly gaining a reputation for being the new healthy pursuit to consider. Janet and Pesh Patel, a highly inquisitive couple who met at Drexel years ago, developed a new retail experience in Marlton, New Jersey, entitled Infuse. The detail-oriented parents of two started the new venture after their 4-year-old caramel skinned daughter was dyed pink from using a bath bomb from a popular store. After doing some research, the Patels learned that putting chemicals on your skin is far worse for you than ingesting them since, when you put them on your skin, they are absorbed directly into the bloodstream. Ingredients like sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) allows products to foam, but is also a hazard linked to cancer, organ toxicity, skin irritation, and more.

They also learned that Canadian and European governments have banned nearly 1,300 ingredients from cosmetics while the U.S. has only banned 11. When the Patels saw that products like SLS are found in toothpaste, shampoo, detergent, cleansers and more, the decision to start Infuse was a no brainer.

The couple became overwhelmed with the reality of their new knowledge and saw that there was a lack of available, customizable and affordable products that were safe. They went on a quest to find American suppliers that could provide natural and organic bases. They learned about using top-quality, certified essential oils and wool dryer balls to naturally scent their laundry. “I had no clue that this was our reality,” says Patel (which one? Janet or Pesh?)

Today, Infuse allows clients to customize personal care products based on their needs and wants. Upon entering, visitors are invited to relax in the Aroma Room, where they’ll have more than 80 certified essential oils to create their own scent from. After picking a favorite, customers will choose the organic and natural base that they want to infuse their scent into. Bases include bar/liquid soap, shampoo, lip balm, room sprays, body wash, shaving cream, lotion and more.

At the Raw Bar, one can pick additional additives such as Retinol, avocado oil, silk amino acids and vitamin E, to name a few. While making selections, you can create custom recipes for salt/sugar face and body scrubs, massage oils, bath soaks, exfoliating bar soaps, lip sugar scrubs, and more while there. You can even simply select to just create a custom 10-millileter (essential oil blend). After you have selected some of the best ingredients our earth has to offer, your recipe will be stored in the computer system for future use, and you can watch your products come to life through the glass-walled lab.

The Patel family is extremely passionate about all aspects of their business. Pesh, a former IT professional with an extensive background in franchising, has an innate mechanical and engineering sense, and developed the machinery and formula used to create the products himself. Combined with Janet, who currently works for her father supporting American Manufacturing, they continue to be innovative, and support other small American businesses every day.

The couple not only created the entire concept, but also carefully designed everything you see in the store. Infuse offers natural and organic personal care products at below standard retail prices, customized on the spot, and ready to take home in just minutes. In addition, they also offer top-quality merchandise including diffusers, handmade organic face and body cleansing cloths, aromatherapy wraps, California-grown luffas, diffuser jewelry, keychains, and car vents from local artists.
