Bayshore Center at Bivalve Hosts Connie Jost Retrospective

The Bayshore Center at Bivalve will host a Connie Jost retrospective art show entitled My Artistic License and Fishing License are the Same. The opening will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on October 13,, and art will be on display throughout the month

An artist, student and teacher, longtime resident Connie Jost touched the lives of many people in South Jersey, and often donated her time and creativity to local nonprofit organizations. Even after her death in 1998, her humor, art, and spirit continued to inspire people; she often used fish and humor in her art to celebrate South Jersey and comment about the environment.A collection of her painted fish including, Just for the Halibut, One Nation Out of Cod, Salmon Chanted Evening, House of Eel Repute, and Somewhere Over the Rainbow will be on display. There will be live music, fishy food and beer, and “o-fish-al” talks about Jost and her art.
