Find Your Way Back to the Body With Trauma-Informed Yoga
Balanced Planet Yoga, in Marlton, hosts Trauma-Informed Yoga: A Practice of Embodiment with instructor Anna Trezzi every Sunday at 4 p.m. The class is designed to help participants reconnect with their bodies through choice, safety and compassion.
“This class invites you to experience yoga as an opportunity to make choices about how you move your body,” Trezzi explains. “Rather than following instructions to achieve an external goal, you’re guided to move in ways that feel supportive, allowing internal sensations to be your cue.”
With nearly 20 years of teaching experience and certification as a Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator, Trezzi offers a practice that begins with gentle somatic explorations and unfolds into student-directed movement. There are no physical assists, creating a space where empowerment and trust in the body’s wisdom take precedence.
Participants describe the practice as deeply liberating, often saying it gives “a felt sense of freedom” or feels like “returning home to my body.” The class is open to anyone—beginners and experienced yogis alike—seeking a more compassionate and self-directed connection with themselves.
