Natural Awakenings South Jersey

Letter from the Publisher

Healthy eating is a lifetime challenge—an ever-changing journey during which food choices are often made based on popular fads, nutritional misinformation and unethical marketing.

We know food is the foundation to our mental and physical health. And, we know each of us has the power to choose to eat healthier. But, it can be very difficult. Busy schedules, picky eaters, confusing labels and the lack of available and affordable healthy food options can easily derail us.

We also live in a Western culture where conventional medicine, backed by big pharma and agricultural industries, would sooner dispense a prescription for an illness over trying to find its root cause and the potential for healing. We tend to view our diet through a narrow American lens and ignore what other much-older and healthier traditions offer.

In this issue, we broaden the definition for “eating better” and provide more relevant information and action steps to help you meet your health and wellness goals.

You will learn the dangers of seed oil, the connection between food and mental health, the benefits of a plant diet, natural remedies for your pets and so much more!

Don’t forget, you can also get hands-on information and guidance at the upcoming Holistic Health and Healing Expo, Sunday, March 19 at The Westin Mount Laurel. Natural Awakenings of South Jersey is proudly sponsoring it and we are very excited for the many wonderful vendors who will be available to coach you in your health journey.

We look forward to seeing you there!

With you in light and love and good health,

Shae
