Pinelands Commission Offering Free Educational Webinars

The New Jersey Pinelands Commission has expanded its schedule of free, educational webinar presentations. The newly added lineup for September includes the following presentations: Forgotten Towns of the New Jersey Pine Barrens; Exploring the Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve and Great Bay, Mullica River Estuary; Who Really Discovered America; and What’s in a Name? Names from Nature.

All of the webinars will be livestreamed on the commission’s YouTube channel, Pinelands Commission. Subscribing is simple, free and it keeps one informed of upcoming or newly posted videos.

The commission has uploaded 95 videos on YouTube thus far including livestreamed and archived recordings of educational Pinelands-themed webinars, as well as commission meetings, public hearings and projects. People can also watch videos of Pinelands wildlife, which inform and inspire. Content is added weekly and the commission will send out email notices with direct links to the presentations, which will also be recorded and archived for later viewing.

The New Jersey Pinelands Commission is an independent state agency whose mission is to preserve, protect and enhance the natural and cultural resources of the Pinelands National Reserve and to encourage compatible economic and other human activities consistent with that purpose.
