One Hundred Percent of NJ LCV-Endorsed Incumbent Environmental Champions Are Re-elected in NJ Assembly Race

League of Conservation Voters

After an extremely tight race in LD 2, which covers Atlantic County, it’s been announced that Assemblymen Mazzeo and Armato can declare victory and officially keep their seats in the New Jersey legislature. Both candidates were a part of the 28 incumbents endorsed by New Jersey League of Conservation Voters (NJ LCV) in the 2019 Assembly race, which brings their number of incumbent winners up to a full 100 percent.

“New Jersey LCV has officially accomplished what we set out to do in this race,” says NJ LCV Executive Director Ed Potosnak. “That was to defend our environmental champion incumbents to make sure we can continue our work with them in the upcoming years to make New Jersey one of the most sustainable and healthy states in the country. Our $60,000 campaign protected all 28 incumbents who have led the push to transform environmental policies in Trenton. We knocked on thousands of doors, called thousands of conservation voters, advertised online and sent mailers to tens of thousands of families. It’s safe to say now that all of that hard work has paid off.”
