Spirit Matters Studio is now offering the experience of working with the arts and imagination to encounter the spirit within. Individuals will be free to envision and express the deep longings of the feminine heart and soul. 

Frustrated with faith traditions that neglect the spiritual needs of contemporary women, visual artist Monica Armstrong offers support and inspiration to enable the discovery of the feminine divine within and encourages personal growth and creativity through workshops, individual spiritual direction and retreats. 

Armstrong dedicates her talent to revealing the presence of the divine through images of women and nature in oil paintings and murals. Her graduate certificate in holistic spirituality led further to training in spiritual direction from the Shalem Institute of Spiritual Formation. As a spiritual director, she has combined art and creativity with her private practice of guiding women who seek to deepen their spiritual life to gain more peace, joy and meaning. 

Bijou Spirit Portraits is a new offering from the Spirit Matters Studio. Armstrong’s personal experiences of coping with the loss of a beloved pet inspired this project, where the purpose is to provide bereavement support and return the aching heart to joyful and comforting memories.
