Deborah’s 8th Annual Run-Walk-Bike Ride

The Deborah Hospital Foundation will kick off their 8th Annual 5K run, 1-mile walk-a-thon and 40-mile bike ride at 9 a.m. on September 16 at Lenape High School, rain or shine. The event will benefit the Deborah Heart and Lung Center, the region’s premier heart, lung and vascular hospital.

Lenape’s track provides both lovely views for walk-a-thon and 5K participants, and stable surfaces for strollers and wheelchairs. The 40-mile bike ride will wind through scenic Burlington County.

Event coordinator, Doreen Liller, says “This event keeps growing every year and I’m excited for a fantastic day.”

Last year’s event gathered 200-plus walkers, bikers and runners and over 60 sponsors. It raised nearly $20,000 for the Deborah Heart and Lung Center which, in 96 years, has never billed a patient.

Medals will be awarded for first overall male and female in the 5K run as well as to the top three males and females according to age group. The top male and female Deborah employees will also be recognized.

All participants pre-registered by September 3 will receive a complimentary T-shirt.

Cost: $15 for students 10-18 years old; $25 for 5K run; $20 for 1-mile walk; $50 for 40-mile bike ride. Registering day-of adds $5 to each fee. Location: 235 Hartford Rd., Medford, NJ. For more information, call Doreen Liller at 609-893-3372, email [email protected]or visit DeborahFoundation.org.
