Encore Offering of “Letting Go”, Releasing Trauma and Relieving Chronic Pain

Audubon’s Live in Joy Yoga and Wellness Center will host an encore offering of the highly effecting healing series Letting Go-Releasing Trauma and Reliving Chronis Pain every Tuesday evening from January 23 through March 13. Weekly classes will include cutting-edge methods for soothing the nervous system, a workbook, deep healing and gentle chair yoga.

The eight-week healing journey, which is grounded in neuroscientific research, has revolutionized trauma and chronic pain treatment over the last five years. It’s a form of self-discovery, especially for those with a history of childhood trauma, domestic violence, and chronic pain.

“What I have learned from my own journey and through extensive study of current research is that even when we think we are over the emotional impact of trauma, the body’s nervous system is often still operating on survival modem,” notes Devpreet Kaur, yoga instructor, PTST chronic pain survivor and creator of the Letting Go series. “Chronic anxiety and pain is the body’s signal of unresolved trauma in the nervous system.”

It is now known that talk therapy is no longer considered effective alone and now must include some form of body-centered therapies. Many therapists are referring clients to yoga and meditation, two practices that consistently proves to be more powerful and effective than many medications.

Cost: $160. Location: 118 W. Merchant St., Audubon. For more information, call 856-546-1006 or visit DevpreetKaur.com and/or LiveInJoyYoga.com
