The Center, Life in Balance Hosts Cozies 4 Chemo Program

Kristy McAdams has brought Cozies 4 Chemo, a service organization started by her 12-year-old cousin Megan Vizzard in 2012, to The Center, Life in Balance, in Medford. The organization provides fleece blankets for individuals undergoing chemotherapy.

The non-profit began when Vizzard’s 19-year-old cousin was undergoing a nine-week course of aggressive chemotherapy. She wanted to give her a gift that would provide comfort during the treatments so she made her a fleece blanket. Word spread, Vizzard made more blankets and Project Cozies 4 Chemo was born. The organization has donated more than 4,000 blankets to cancer patients throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The Center, Life in Balance will host Blanket Angel group gatherings throughout the month. During these gatherings, anyone who visits The Center can tie knots on fleece blankets in progress or make a donation to buy more kits.
