Cape May Artists’ Cooperative Relocates

The 19-member Cape May Artists’ Cooperative is relocating to a studio at 122 Sunset Boulevard, across from the Exit Zero Store, in West Cape May, a few blocks away from its former location. The gallery carries a comprehensive collection of members’ art, including original paintings, photographs and prints, jewelry, stained and fused glass, woodturning and assemblages, fiber arts and mosaics. Views and themes of Cape May and the surrounding area have inspired many of the works.

A group of local artists formed the cooperative in 2009 to display, share and sell their art publicly. They were located within the West End Garage until December 2013. President Mary Stewart believes the new gallery will help raise awareness of the artists’ work and expand their horizons. “Our members are excited to have finally moved into a location that gives us a more gallery-like space with great natural light and provides the opportunity to conduct classes and workshops.” A full schedule of demonstrations, gallery talks and classes is planned.

Open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday and Monday. For more information, call 609-435-5253.
