Rizzieri Aveda School for Beauty and Wellness

For cosmetology stargazers, there just may have been a conga-line of planets in the sky the day that the Rizzieri family moved their stellar cosmetology school, Rizzeri Aveda School for Beauty and Wellness, from Camden to Voorhees in 2009. Whatever the impetus, Marltonians and Voorhsians get to enjoy the good fortune of hair, nail, and skin care services from students at the state-of-the-art facility, which incorporates beauty, wellness, and education. “Professional instructors supervise our students, who get to showcase their skills in haircuts, hairstyling, color, perms, relaxors, Aveda Customized facials, hair removal, the application of lashes and make-up, as well as manicures and pedicures—all for better than reasonable prices,” says Meg Stezzi, the school’s director since 2001.

Ever since 1924, when Franco Cipriotti opened Maison de Paris, New Jersey’s first cosmetology school, a dedicated staff and experienced instructors have been meeting their mission of providing students with an education that is consistent, transferable, and creative in a positive professional environment. The Cipriotti family, who continued their founder’s dream, has remained in the forefront of health and beauty education. Franco's daughter, Anna and her husband, Sal Rizzieri, assumed ownership of the school in 1975. The husband and wife team, along with their son, Frank, a nationally recognized editorial stylist, and Dino, an operational executive, relocated the school to Haddonfield, New Jersey.

Not long after the Rizzieri family began envisioning a second story of a building that would house the Rizzieri Aveda School and Aveda Lifestyle Store, their vision became a reality in the Voorhees location, with the renovation of a 14,500 square foot facility. The building’s top floor houses the Aveda school as well as a massage school. Both have classroom and clinical environments enhanced with all the technical equipment necessary to learn the trade. Electronic equipment, such as PowerPoint presentations, DVDs, and videos, enhance teaching of the newest techniques, concepts, and trends in health and education.

The Rizzieri commitment to preparing students for a future in skincare continues to grow. Today, the Marlton location offers The Marlton Salon and Spa as well as a medical spa, where cutting edge technology, customized skin care programs and a client education approach helps Dr. Donna Wilcox and her staff to insure that individuals reach their health and wellness goals. A massage school is located in Voorhees.

The school shares an integral connection to Aveda, which develops and manufactures hair, skin, makeup, perfumes and lifestyle products from essential oils of flowers and plants gathered from around the world. Rizzeri applauds Aveda for its role as a leading business model for environmental sustainability and its leadership in developing packaging that maximizes the use of recyclable and post-consumer recycled products. “Like Aveda, we are also dedicated to caring for the world we live in,” says Stezzi.

The Rizzieri Aveda School is an approved and licensed cosmetology school by the New Jersey State Board of Cosmetology and Hair Styling. It is also accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences.
