The Center, Life in Balance will host an open house for its newly re-imagined gift shop, Heart Space Gift Shop & Creativity Studio, from noon to 4 p.m., November 13. Visitors can meet and speak with local artisans and authors, and a raffle and light refreshments from SuperFoods Café & Market will add to the festivities Owners of the shop, Susan Drummond, Kristy McAdams and Maryann Miller, are excited to share new items added to the adult and children’s books, angel cards, angel figurines, crystals, meditation CDs and local artisan jewelry for which the shop is known. Sound instruments, coloring books, handmade wooden pieces and jewelry, indoor solar chimes and more treasures fill the shelves.

McAdams, the creative talent behind the studio, will host paint parties and circle mandalas. “I envision all the workshops involving drawing, painting, crafting and beyond to fall under the purview of the studio. Regardless of the medium used and the host, it is an individual allowing their ‘inner heartist’ out to play,” says McAdams.

“By our nature, we are creative beings. Our personal healing and growth is enhanced by our ability to create in a fun relaxing way. The studio provides the space and energy to let go and let the creative juices flow,” adds Miller.
