Mesotherapy for Fat Removal

Mesotherapyfunctions as both a method for removing fat deposits that remain unaffected by diet and exercise and as an effective technique for treating cellulite. It can be used on a variety of areas of the body including the arms, chin, belly and legs. After mesotherapy injections, healthy skin tightens around the treatment area, creating a firmer, more toned appearance.

Mesotherapy can be used on almost any area of the body that carries a small, but stubborn fat deposit. For the removal of fat from these areas, we at The Replenish Center, in Willingboro, administer Phosphatadyl Choline (PC) and Deoxycholic Acid (DC) through small injections to the target area(s). In this relatively painless procedure, the PC/DC solution breaks down the bonds that maintain the solid form of body fat. Once the fat is converted to liquid form, the body is able to remove the fat naturally at a much more rapid pace than your normal metabolism is able to accomplish. This process will take from several weeks to a few months to complete, depending upon the patient. Mesotherapy using PC/DC will permanently remove the injected fat from the treated area. However, weight gain can stimulate the growth of new fat cells. Therefore, maintaining a healthy diet and engaging in regular exercise is essential for the long-term benefits of mesotherapy.

Mesotherapy on the Chin (Double Chin)

Even on a body that’s otherwise fit, a double chin can contribute to an overall appearance of heaviness. Because excess weight in the chin area tends to resist all attempts at body toning, mesotherapy on a double chin, administered through injections, is a good, safe choice for achieving a more proportionate and toned appearance.

Mesotherapy on the Arms (Bat Wings)

For some people, there are certain parts of the body—the upper and lower arms—that stubbornly refuse to slim down, resisting even the most stringent diet and exercise regimens. Those who have tried unsuccessfully to tone their arms can undergo the simple mesotherapy treatment to get rid of excess fat on the arms.

Mesotherapy on the Belly (Love Handles/Spare Tire)

People who carry excess weight around their mid-sections know that it can be extremely challenging to get rid of that “spare tire” even with the most diligent regimen of sit-ups and dieting. For this reason, mesotherapy is a popular option for eliminating belly fat. It can decrease the width of the waist by several inches.

Mesotherapy on the Back (Bra Bulges)

Many women complain of the bulges that can be seen in the bra area on the back. Despite diet and exercise, this area is difficult to achieve a smooth appearance, often showing through T-shirts or semi-fitted clothing. One or two mesotherapy sessions is usually enough to achieve great results for this area.

Mesotherapy on the Legs (Saddle Bags)

The inner and outer thighs are highly susceptible to cellulite, that bumpy accumulation of fat under the skin. Eliminating cellulite from this area can be particularly difficult. Fortunately, mesotherapy injections can be administered directly into this area. The solution effectively breaks down the walls of the fat cells so that the body can simply flush away the waste naturally.

Mesotherapy on the Face (Eye bags & Jowls)

Bulging under the eyes can be due to fluid retention, laxity of skin or fat deposits. For the bulging caused by fat deposits, injections have been successfully used to eliminate the fat pads under the eyes. Another facial area that has been treated effectively with mesotherapy is the jowls. This hanging skin is a result of fat that has descended from the upper face and rests near the chin. Mesotherapy can dissolve this fat, while tightening the skin, resulting in a smooth appearance.

Mestherapy for Cellulite

Mesotherapy treatment has an impressive track record for smoothing and removing cellulite, the dimpled “orange peel” skin that often affects the buttocks and legs. Skin actually tightens over the area injected, which can noticeably diminish the appearance of cellulite.

The Mesotherapy Procedure

Mesotherapy treatment involves the removal of fat using injections. The formula consists of vitamins, enzymes and naturally derived substances. The needle used is very fine, about the size of an acupuncture needle. A local anesthetic cream is used to numb the injection site, making the procedure relatively painless. After the injections, patients will experience a slight stinging sensation for a few minutes.

Once the mesotherapy treatment is injected into the targeted fat deposit, the molecular bonds between the fat molecules are dissolved, causing the fat to change its phase from solid to liquid. The procedure itself only takes about 15 to 30 minutes. The liquefaction of the fat will cause the area to swell and become tight for a few days. A mild diuretic may be prescribed to alleviate any discomfort from the swelling. The body uses its natural waste-filtration organs such as the liver and the intestines to gradually issue the fat out of the body over the next few weeks to months. Most patients observe improvement in their treated areas after about four weeks. Maximum benefits are seen at three months.  The most successful course of mesotherapy is a series of treatment sessions carefully calibrated to build off of the positive results you’ll be already exhibiting. Subsequent treatment sessions are spaced between six to eight weeks apart.
