8 Ways to Boost Immunity Naturally

Alas, cold and flu season is upon us. Everywhere you turn, people are panicked as they wait for their time to come. Here are some simple, powerful and natural ways to help families stay healthy and feel prepared.

1. Healing Broth

The “Medical Medium Healing Broth” should be a big part of meal planning this time of year. It can be used as a base for other soups, or sipped alone, particularly when feeling under the weather or run down. Ingredients include carrots (high in betacarotene), celery, onions, garlic and other powerful vegetables and herbs work hard to help strengthen our immune systems. Great tasting, immune-boosting soup is one of the most satisfying foods when it’s cold outside.

2. Thyroid Healing Broth

Another similar broth is Anthony William’s “Thyroid Healing Broth.”This antiviral, mineral-rich broth can offer a slightly different, but great tasting boost to your immune function. Powerful ingredients such as parsley, thyme, turmeric, sweet potatoes (and so many more) taste delicious and support your body in the best way.

3. Zinc/Zinc shock therapy

Zinc is great to take daily for immune support. It can be one’s best friend during the cold and flu season. Zinc can be swallowed alone or mixed with another liquid to help the body defend itself naturally.

To take this powerful supplement one step further, try “Zinc shock therapy.” This means ingesting extra droppers full of zinc at the start of an illness and allowing it to sit on the throat. About two hours later, take another strong dose. A few hours later, do it again. This is a great way to mitigate the severity and duration of an illness.

4. Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a common go-to supplement for many looking to boost immune response, and with good reason. Ester-C with rosehips a supplemental form of vitamin C that can be very helpful for a wide range of people. It’s very gentle on the system, so if someone has digestive issues or is very sensitive, Ester-C may be the best supplement choice. Food sources we are also sure to include are lots of oranges, tangerines, and kiwis in our daily snacks which are a rich source of vitamin C.

5. Handwashing/Sani-Hands Wipes

Think about how many hands, faucets, door knobs, etc., people come in contact with on a daily basis. Generally speaking, washing hands is a great way to keep the immune defenses up. In addition to hand washing, anti-microbial wipes are a quick way to wipe down hands or other items (shopping carts, tables/high chairs, etc.) 

6. Self-Care/Sleep

Letting oneself get run down is a very easy way to becoming a target for catching something. At the first sign of feeling a little “off”, a simple first step is to get adequate sleep. Sleep deprivation combined with chronic stress creates a vulnerability to colds and upper-respiratory infections. It’s not always easy, but a little rest and self-care (this includes some physical activity) can go a long way in keeping the whole family above water.

7. Avoid Certain Foods

Knowing what foods to avoid can be super helpful when colds and flus are all around you.
